WHAT ARE werks MODIFIED CLUTCH BASKETS ALL ABOUT?
2002 DL 1000 to current DL 1050 Suzuki, all SV 1000, and Kawasaki KLV 1000 have a design problem with the factory clutch baskets. As these wear they begin to make metallic noises from the clutch cover area and can have strong vibrations in the 2000-4000 rpm range as you accelerate through that rpm range. There are other vibrations in the higher rpms caused by the main bearing wearing off center. These vibrations are called "Clutch Chudder". WERKS modified clutch baskets are engineered to correct the flawed factory design. They are smoother than a new out of the box OEM basket and stay that way! Why we don't offer an "add to cart" purchase option
We want to be sure you are buying the right parts for your bike. Meaning we don't want to sell you a new basket if you really would be better off with an exchange unit or having your basket sent in for modification. When shipping a basket for modification, we want to see the basket and inspect it for shipping or other damage before payment is made. During peak season demands we sometimes run out of core baskets to build, meaning no exchange baskets are in stock to ship....so we don't want payment made until they are available. Starting in 2023, there will be periods of weeks at a time when I will be out of the shop. No clutch basket shipping or exchange refunds possible during these periods. So, it is very important to contact WERKS Parts BEFORE you are ready to ship or buy a basket to insure availability. See Contact Form below.
How to Purchase
The best way to get started is to fill out the contact form. I need to know bike year, model, shipping address, phone, name, e-mail. I will get back to you with either an e-mailed invoice that you can pay online, or the information you are after. Calls are welcome, but it is easier to put information into the computer from an e-mail.
How to Pay
Typically I send invoices that allow online payment with a credit card. This is for US customers only. If you prefer a PayPal invoice, I can send those instead.
International customers ALL must pay via PayPal. You do NOT have to open an account with them ( checkout as a guest ) and you can use credit cards to pay the PayPal invoice.
