what is this all about?
For years I have been asked about a screen with more airflow.
Often I would get calls about making a shorter "Sport" screen for summer use.
I tried making them. 3 prototypes. The last one I removed about 20 miles from home and tossed into a dumpster. Rode home with NO screen on my RT and realized that was way better than ANY short screen I had tried!
Over the winter I took a trip on my V Strom that I had made a screen for. Had to be narrow to clear the bars and mirrors.
Got me to thinking about the RT. Could I make a narrow screen for an RT that would still have decent aero qualities but put a LOT more air onto the riders shoulders and torso?
The WERKS Cool Ride is the culmination of several prototypes and many miles of testing.

Compromise
Any windshield is a compromise. Height, width, how it fits to the bike and how it interacts with the fairings and cowl of the bike.
Manage the airflow around the helmet
The design of the Cool Ride is much wider at the top. This is what makes the Cool Ride a unique offering! Changing the height effects air flow a LOT more than it does on other screens. This needs to be experimented with to find the "sweet spot" for the riding conditions you are in.
What to expect
I have high standards for what I will offer to customers. If you have ridden behind one of my Quiet Ride screens you know that. I don't want anyone buying a Cool Ride without knowing it has some noise and buffeting present compared to a standard screen. When on the interstates at high speed around traffic and in crosswinds you will notice this. ! But it just might be better for the rider going across I-10 in the summer.
